Tenisha Bernal is a published children’s book author / illustrator whose goal is to expand the minds of children and their grownup(s). Tenisha has a First 100 Words board book series under her belt, including; Little Gardener’s First 100 Words, which was selected as an Amazon Editor’s Best Children’s Book of the Year So Far, in 2024.
In 2025, her non-fiction manuscript You’re Not Alone: A Kid’s Guide to Understanding OCD was selected as a winner of the SCBWI SF North & East Bay's Equity and Inclusion Awards. Tenisha lives in Rohnert Park, California, with her husband and son (who have dubbed themselves as her “Street Team”), and their rescue dog Bandit.

Favorite Food? Hands down ice cream!
Favorite Car? Taco trucks are awesome.
Favorite Animal? DOGS. I finally adopted one in 2024!
Dream Job: I always wanted to be an artist.
Favorite Sport? I love watching baseball, especially the Oakland A’s. As a kid I participated in Kenpo Karate. I blink WAY too much to play any sport where a ball can come flying at me.
